Before purchasing the Doylestown Bookshop, Glenda worked for more than 20 years in the field of education, first as a teacher and then as a preschool director and finally as a Literacy Coach on a grant for a university. Glenda has also worked as an adjunct professor at a community college, teaching early childhood education courses and served on a Head Start board of directors in Chicago. Many years ago, she took a business course that required her to create a business plan for an education-related business. The business plan was for a bookstore. And so began her journey!

After a year researching the bookstore business, Glenda purchased The Doylestown Bookshop in 2012. She believes there is still a place in a community, like Doylestown, where a bookstore can become not only a retail business, but a gathering place in the community, a place where people can learn new things, relax, share stories, and be entertained. Glenda is happy to be part of an amazing staff and community that makes this all possible!
