Jennifer Robin Barr

Jennifer Robin Barr is a Philadelphia-area writer focusing on middle-grade novels, and is drawn to writing about little-known nuggets of history.

Her Middle Grade debut novel, Goodbye, Mr. Spalding (Boyds Mills & Kane, 2019), received a Starred Review from School Library Connection, calling it “(I)nformative, entertaining, nostalgic, and…humorous. This novel works well as a read-aloud and would be a great addition to the history curriculum.”  Booklist said, “Barr knows her baseball history and brings rich detail to mid-1930s Philadelphia…sports fanatics will eat up the appended material. A sweet debut about friendship and the love of the game,”and Kirkus said, “Life lessons, baseball, and good friends; it’s all here.”
